Cats on an Airplane

So in June Lenny and I are going to this condo we have in Florida. We hardly ever use it, in fact we went there in March for the first time in 4 years. Well, while we were there we really, really missed our girlie cats. (poor dog, no mention of her) We decided that the cats would really love the Florida condo and have booked them on a flight with us (they fly under the seats in front of us) Imagine the trip....dialogue goes something like this BUBBLES: Meow RUBY: Meow BUBBLES: Meow BUBBLES: Meow RUBY: Meow RUBY: Meow BUBBLES:Meow RUBY: Meow BUBBLES: Meow RUBY: Meow MEOW,MEOW,MEOW,MEOW,MEOW,MEOW,MEOW, MEOW,MEOW,MEOW,MEOW,MEOW,MEOW,MEOW Kitty Cat pandamonium! I purchased 2 new kitty carriers and have been trying to get the girls used to them. First mistake, I took them to the vet in them. Picture me with one bag across my chest to the left and one bag across my chest to the right. BIG CAT HIPS When I finally got them home I realized one cat pee'd in the carrier. I don't know which one (cat not carrier, pee in carrier very obvious) Two weeks go by and I swear I'm still smelling cat pee. I am sniffing my car seat, the floor of the car where one of the carriers was. Then I am at work, and I'm still smelling pee. I start to ask my co-workers, "Do you smell cat pee?" NOOOOOOO. I check my book bag thinking a cat pee'd in there (althought they are perfect and this would be highly unlikely) Are you Ready? It's my freaking COAT. That's right, Laura has been walking around with a coat that a cat pee'd on. To work. To dinner. Out with friends. To the grocery store. How would you like to be standing in line behind me???? Pretty Scary. And here I am thinking I just can't the the pee smell out of my nose. Ha Ha

Sock it to Me!

Thanks to everyone who responded to my plea for an easy sock pattern. Yesterday I took a drive to "knitting central" in Westport, CT. Wow, what a really great yarn shop on the Post Road off of exit 18. The place is great. Very hip! This is what I purchased. The yarn is Koigu. The very enthusiastic and ambitious me purchased enough for 2 pair......ummm let me absorb that for a second. OK absorbed!!!!

Last night Lenny and I went to my sisters for a Mother's Day dinner. The whole gang from my side was there,Mom, Dad, my brother David was was down from VT,my sister of course, her 2 kids, and hubby. A good time was had by all. I brought the wine, and a cd with songs from the 80's...whooohooo, that's all it takes for Anita to get up and boogey.Image hosted by Photobucket.com Notice we actually lit a fire. sidebar HELLO SPRING, if your listening,I am freezing, could we please have some dry balmy weather? Here I am in front of the fire, where I spent most of the night. I started my gauge swatch. Notice how my wine glass is empty!!! That's just not right. Image hosted by Photobucket.com This is my sister Anita and her daughter, my one and only favorite neice. Ally. Image hosted by Photobucket.com Here's me and Ally, Image hosted by Photobucket.com and, I just noticed, not one picture of my brother David. That's because he was behind the lense. David if you read this, email me the pictures from your camera, and a picture of you so I can post you on my blog dude! That's enough about the family drunken, disco, Mother's Saturday Night Day party. Today I spent about 4 hours in the basement sanding an old dresser we had in the house. Wow I wore a face mask and still had quite the eventful, emphasis on ful, nose blow afterwards. Lovely. I will post pix of that later, I am too tired to get off my ass and walk down two flights of stairs to take the picure right now.

I'm not dead, just missing in action.....

well, I'm back....It seems like it's been forever since I last published a post. I had purchased a new desk from The United House Wrecking company (I think that's the name)in Stamford, for my new home office. Did I mention that I used to share a home computer with Lenny, but... we got computer divorced. It is, after all, a personal computer. He thought it was ok to delete my favorites. Imagine? Well, I waited all day for the delivery, only to have the delivery guys spend an hour in my foyer trying to get the thing upstairs. Didn't happen. Very depressing. So the search moved on. Sad to say I ended up with a mass produced desk from the Pottery Barn. I did, however, compensate for the desk mishap by splurging on a Herman Miller Aeron chair. Very cool! I am still getting organized in my new space though and still waiting for the 2nd half of the desk to come in. sidebar...the chair was already ordered...a large price for the deleter of favorites in the other room. Passover was last week and the whole family was in...a little chaotic but always fun. (my office reverted back to it's intended function as a guest room). In fact all the rooms reverted back to guest rooms. 4 adults and 3 children. The weekend was rainy, so the house got trashed. See photo of Lenny, Scott and Jack working on a go-cart in my kitchen!!!! What a motley looking crew they are. Not a good hair day for those 3! Image hosted by Photobucket.com Knitting....AHHHH yes, knitting. I am back in the mode again. I have a couple of things started. I am not so sure that is a good thing, I used to insist that I finish a book from beginning to end, before I would start a new one. Even if the one I was reading really sucked. Then I decided why should I put myself through the torcher of some shitty writers book just because they got lucky enough to have it published? After all, I refer to my friend Bonnie, again,
this is not a dress rehearsal!
Starting a new knitting project before finishing an existing one doesn't seem to offend me nearly as much as the book thing. So here are my WIP A Soooo simplie it is silly handbag.

A bikini???? Yeah, I know, not the best knitted item, but I was at Target buying an iron with Lenny this weekend, and he got paged to the hospital, I had not a single bit of knitting with me, and purchased this kit knowing I would be sitting around waiting for him. He was done in about 20 minutes, hence this small part of the boob triangle was all I did. Image hosted by Photobucket.com And the blue item. I saw a Ralph Lauren sleeveless top at Neimans, and my friend and I are certain we should try to copy it rather than paying the absurd price tag for it. Needless to say, I am having a bit of difficulty. I should just frog it, (ummm I never used that word in a sentence before) and start over. It is supposed to be sleeveles with a scarf-like wrap that goes around your neck to hold it up. I think I will try again. (who are we kidding, we will both probably end up buying the one at Neimans) Image hosted by Photobucket.com Well, it's 11pm and I am tired. Tomorrow Lenny and I are driving into Manhattan. Lunch with Eric, Molly and Ford. Then off to see a jeweler about a necklace. Then dinner. Balthazar? Artisanal? or maybe a hot bagel from H&H for the car ride home.
