Pool's Open!!! Finally, here's a picture of me, just before I did this!!! I tripped backwards, and knocked two soup bowls out of Julie's hands. That's delicouse artichoke soup with caviar in case you were wondering, and that's one happy Bichon named Spike!!

Vacation

Lenny and I just arrived back from vacation this am. Around 3am to be exact. Trip from hell, for the most part.
In a nutshell:
Sat. the 5th car picks us up at 3am. Hideous time to do anything except sleep. Arrive at LaGuardia airport only to realize that one of us, read as LENNY, left our carry on bag in the driveway. This bag holds 1- anything valuable 2 - All my jewlery and cool accessories, including 3 Hermes scarves that were to double has shirts, 3 - CAMERA, hence there will be no pictures to post to the blog. 4 - Bose, sound reducing headphones. 5 - His cigars, such a shame and his reading glasses.
Thankfully, I had the sense to pack my Ambien in my handbag.
We arrive in St. Lucia after many hours of flying(change of planes in Miami), only to have to drive 1 hour and 40 minutes in a shuttle van. Lenny and I would have liked to have taken an 8 minute helicopter ride to the resort, but our travelling companions were a bit to weary.
OK did I mention we were staying at a SANDALS resort? Now, I am not a snob, no really I'm not!! I have stayed at a Sandals resort before, and yes it sucked, but I was being open minded and besides our friends planned the whole thing. There is nothing like a resort filled with overweight Americans and Brits. Right? and oohh the fancy weddings taking place every 15 minutes.
Let me just say, that I actually worked out in the gym every day!!!!!! Anyone who knows me will agree with me when I say that is extreme! (and I stilled gained 5 fckg pounds!!!)
Did I mention that November is the rainy season in St. Lucia? Sorry to leave that bit out. Some of the rooms, thankfully not ours, rooms were flooded. Lovely.
OK time to go home!!!! Sunniest day of the week, naturally. We opt for the heli ride, 8 minutes to airport, luggage not there yet. Board plane, (3 hours later) long, painful, hot flight to Miami. It is now around 7:30 pm - collect bags, go through customs - uneventful. Flight delayed, takes off around 9pm backing out of gate and BUMP -oops sorry we ripped the tow pole off ???? Wait on plane (always a joy) for tow pole repair and front end check. Take off, arrive NY around midnight, bag carousel - round and round she goes - no Laura and Lenny bags!!!!!!! Make claim at AA counter, Augusta - a real rocket scientist - takes our claim and we are on the road. Finally land in bed at 3am. Full circle. Depart 3am November 5, return 3am November 12th.
I must be fair and mention 3 good scuba dives, 4 really cute kitties milling around the buffet, and a few good rolls in the hay with hubby!
And yes, still waiting for backs to arrive.
